BMW shows in a show self- steering cars

This is one of many experiments with this technology to automotive companies . Japanese Toyota has also shown its autonomous cars in EPE . In the U.S. each year counted 50,000 road accidents and car manufacturers hope that machines controlled by sensors and programs will cause less accidents than men .

A study of the transport center Eno showed that if 10 % of cars on U.S. roads would be autonomous it will reduce by 1% cases of accidents . A number of assistive technologies for the driver is placed in recently manufactured cars .

Recently California , Florida and Nevada have authorized autonomous vehicles to be tested on the road and Google's fleet of 24 robots Lexus has registered 500,000 miles by unmanned vehicles , without any incidents .

Autonomous vehicles are not yet authorized in Europe and will have more time to see them on our streets and highways .

BMW shows self - steering cars that can take turns and make discount without problems . Modified Coupe of the second series and 6 series Gran Coupe , being controlled by a cursor , like lighting can do laps around a hippodrome without the need of a leader .

Using a 360 -degree radar , cameras and ultrasonic sensors , BMW showed its new technology for autonomous cars in Electronics Exhibition Users ( EPE ) in Las Vegas .
